In the ceremony held on the occasion of National Teachers' Day, leading faculty members at Iranian universities were nominated. Of the 52 nominees, two faculty members were from Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU).

The 30th Teachers' Day ceremony was held at Shahid Beheshti University and attended by Dr Mohammad Ali Zolfigol, Minister of Science, Research and Technology, and faculty members and officials from the universities and higher education institutes all around Iran. 52 faculty members from various fields were nominated and appreciated in this event.

Dr Ebrahim Barzegar, Professor of Political Science at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, and Dr Hassan Maleki, Professor of Curriculum Studies at the Faculty of Psychology and Education were the leading professors chosen in the field of humanities.

According to Dr Mehdi Bayat, Advisor to the Minister of Science, Research and Technology on the Boards of Trustees and Auditing Boards, this year the universities were allowed to nominate one candidate per one hundred faculty members at the university, and each university had the opportunity to include at most six candidates in their list. Accordingly, 126 lists were submitted from 44 different universities, and the leading faculty members were chosen from a large number of candidates.

From the 52 selected leading professors, 20 were from the fields of industry and engineering, 13 were chosen from basic sciences, 12 were from the humanities, 6 were from the agriculture fields, and one faculty member was selected from the architecture group.

Also, this year the number of female leading professors was more than the number of female professors chosen in previous years.
