In a meeting held in the Khayyam Centre for Iranian Studies, Dr Shobeiri met officials from the Iranian Embassy in Madrid and reported on currrent activities and future plans.

On Thursday, 23 January 2020, in a meeting held in the Khayyam Centre for Iranian Studies, Dr Najmeh Shobeiri, Associate Professor of Spanish Language at Allameh Tabataba"i University (ATU) and Director of the Khayyam Centre for Iranian Studies had a meeting with the Iranian Ambassador to Madrid, Dr Hassan Ghashghavi and other officials from the Iranian Embassy in Madrid, and reported on current activities and future plans.

The parties had discussions on the International Conference on the Millennium of Omay Khayyam, planned to be held by ATU on 17-18 February 2020 in Mardid, and reviewed the various papers scheduled to be presented.

Dr Shobeiri then proposed that the Khayyam Centre and the Iranian Embassy and its attechés have more cooperation to increase the dynamics of the Khayyam Centre, and the proposal was welcomed by the Ambassador.

The meeting was concluded with the parties emphasizing the need for more collaborations and further decisive steps towards teaching Persian Language in Spain.

In this meeting, Dr Joaquin Rodriguez, Iranian Studies Scholar and Professor of Persian Language and Literature, and Fatemeh Bayatfar, Instructor of Persian Language in the Khayyam Center also participated.
