ATU Moot Court Team Brings Honour at 2026 Jessup World Competition

According to the ATU Public Relations Office, despite significant international restrictions, including visa issuance problems and disrupted access to research resources, the team overcame infrastructure and other obstacles to compete and bring pride to Iran’s academic community. In the first stage, ATU’s team secured the Best Memorial award in the national competition and stood on the championship podium.

The team then advanced to the Caribbean regional rounds, held virtually, where they competed against 19 teams from different countries. ATU’s representatives won all four preliminary matches as well as the semi‑final with authority, ultimately claiming the regional championship.

In the individual rankings of the regional competition, ATU students delivered brilliant performances. Out of 69 participants, they achieved impressive positions:

• 6th place: Salaleh Khoshbash

• 8th place: Mehdi Ghasemi

• 9th place: Mobina Mazaheri

• 11th place: Mehdi Sadeghi

Although the ATU team was unable to attend the international final rounds in the US due to travel restrictions, the international judges’ evaluation of their written submissions demonstrated the high level of legal knowledge among our students. Comparative assessments indicate that ATU’s memorial ranked in the top 12 worldwide, specifically 12th place, among 166 competing teams. This achievement stands as strong evidence of the high quality of education and research at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Allameh Tabataba'i University.

This great success was made possible through the efforts of the team members, Mobina Mazaheri, Salaleh Khoshbash, Niloufar Tal, Mehdi Ghasemi, and Mehdi Sadeghi (all master’s students in International Law), under the dedicated guidance and coaching of Ms. Mehrak Chalack and Ms. Fatemeh Naghavi (ATU alumnae in International Law).
