Dr Seyed Jalal Dehghani Firouzabadi, a prominent faculty member of Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU), has recently achieved two significant milestones, receiving a high-level national appointment and attaining the highest academic rank at the university.

According to a decree issued by Seyed Kamal Kharrazi, the Head of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, Dr Dehghani Firouzabadi has been appointed as the Secretary of the Council. He succeeds Ali Bagheri, who stepped down following his appointment as the Deputy for International Affairs at the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council.

Concurrently, during the 234th meeting of the ATU Audit Board held on December 17 (Azar 26) and attended by University President Dr. Shoja Ahmadvand, the board approved the promotion of Dr Dehghani Firouzabadi’s academic rank to "Distinguished Professor."

Born in 1965 in Meybod, Dr Dehghani Firouzabadi received his PhD in International Relations from the University of Brussels in 1995. As a faculty member of the Department of International Relations at ATU, he is a celebrated scholar; his seminal book, Foreign Policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran (published by SAMT), is widely taught as a textbook in political science programs across Iranian universities. His scholarly excellence has been recognized previously, having been selected as a winner in the 7th Farabi International Award and honored as a "Distinguished Theorist" in the 8th edition of the festival.
