Following the agreement signed between Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU) and the Ruskimir Foundation,  Russia, in 2021, the first Russian Translation Contest will be held online at ATU's Research Institute for Translation Studies (RITS). The Contest is scheduled to be held on Sunday, 22 May 2022.

The Contest, entitled more precisely the National Contest in Translating Russian Literature into Persian, is held by the RITS and receives financial support from the Ruskimir Foundation. Dr Fatemeh Parham, Director of the RITS, and Dr Mousa Abdollahi, Vice-Dean for Research at the Faculty of Persian Literature and Foreign Languages (PLFL), will supervise the event's organisation.

 

Prizes for Winners

1st  Winner:  Travel allowance to Russia worth 250 million IR Rials;
2nd Winner:  A tablet device worth 100 million IR Rials;
3rd  Winner:  A tablet device worth 80 million IR Rials.

 

More Details on the Contest

• The test (contest) will be held on Sunday, 22 May 2022, at the Research Institute for Translation Studies;
• Participation in the contest is open to all;
• The test is held online on the Skyroom;
• Registration has started on 25 April and will end on 10 May 2022;
• Participants' laptop cameras/webcams must remain turned on throughout the test, and the laptop screen must be shared with the examiner;
• The participant's photo submitted during the registration process must match the person doing the test;
• The test will include a written translation where a literary text will have to be translated from Russian into Persian;
• Test duration will be two hours;
• Applicants must use a laptop to take the test, and mobile phones cannot be used;
• Printed and online dictionaries are allowed to be used during the test;
• The test is going to be held in the afternoon. The exact time will be announced shortly.
