ATU professor selected as top researchers in humanities

At the 22nd National Festival for celebrating top Iranian researchers, which was held on Thursday, 16 December 2021 in the Persian Gulf Hall of the Tehran International Exhibition Centre, Dr Rezamorad Sahraei, ATU professor and Acting Head at the Centre for Teaching Persian to Speakers of Other Languages (TPSOL) was selected as the country's top humanities researcher in 2021.
Dr Sahraei is a Full Professor in Applied Linguistics and Teaching Persian to Speakers of Other Languages. Prior to this prize, he had the following achievements in his academic and research career: the 7th Farabi International Festival Prize for his book on learning Persian grammar from a generative perspective; top researcher at Allameh Tabataba'i University in 2016 and 2021; publication of more than 40 books on simple and comprehensive methods for teaching Persian in the world (all being taught in more than 50 countries); author of more than 80 research articles in the field of teaching Persian language and literature to non-Persian speakers; holding 3 criticism and theorizing chairs; holding 15 international workshops and 6 national research projects; design and implementation of 80 Persian language teacher-training courses for non-Persian speakers (from which more than 800 Iranian and foreign teachers from 35 countries have received degrees); designing the Persian Language Proficiency Test (AMFA) for speakers of other languages and its approval by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution; design and implementation of the first standard for Persian language teaching (performed in 85 countries); design and implementation of the Persian Language Teaching Knowledge Test (DATFA) for the qualification of Persian language teachers around the world; and the National Top Student awards at both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
