About DIAC

 

Few Words about DIAC

The Directorate of International Academic Cooperation (henceforth DIAC), in the form of a Directorate, was formally established in September 2013. Formerly it was limited to a small Office, employing a Head and a single Officer. The then International Relations Office (IRO) was headed by such characters as Mr Ebrahim Zare'i (since 2000), Dr Jafar Kambouzia (since 2005), Dr Hamidreza Rahmanizadeh Dehkordi (since 2007), and Dr Shoja Ahmadvand (2012). The then ATU IRO and the present DIAC have been organized under ATU Vice-Presidency for Research.

At its establishment, it launched into its international activities in the form of two distinct Offices: the Office for Planning International Academic Collaborations and the Office for Developing International Academic Collaborations. Now, rather merged as are these offices, they are offering service to students and faculty members of ATU planning to use international aids and services, as well as the foreign students and faculty visiting ATU for the same purposes. In this page you will shortly read about some of the activities offered in DIAC. Different members available at DIAC are introduced in this page.

Memberships:

ATU is currently benefiting from its membership in the following associations and federations:

• International Association of Universities (IAU)
• International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA)
• Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW)

 

Memorandums of Understanding:

ATU is also interested in establishing and developing academic and cultural ties with universities all over the world. ATU is currently signing various Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aiming at:

• exchanging journals and papers;
• jointly publishing books and periodicals;
• mutually providing facilities for cooperation in academic activities, such as sabbatical leaves, etc.
• exchanging professors and students for accomplishing educational and research purposes;
• holding conferences and carrying out joint research;
• cooperating in the development of new courses and educational systems;
• sharing experience in various academic and research aspects.
