ATU’s Centre for China Studies and the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations of Iran had a session on 12 June 2019.

On Wednesday, 12 June 2019, a session was held between ATU’s newly founded Centre for China Studies and the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations of Iran (SCFR). In this session chaired by Dr Kamal Kharrazi, a number of faculty members from ATU and Shahid Beheshti University, and previous ambassadors of Iran to China participated and discussed the latest developments in relations between Iran and China, how to consolidate and expand bilateral ties, and how to use the capacities provided by China’s One Belt, One Road Initiative, and the necessity for Iran to take a more active role in this project. The parties then emphasized the importance of strengthening the joint academic and research relations between the two countries.

Centre for China Studies was formally established in ATU in April 2019, following the agreement signed between ATU and Shanghai International Studies University (SISU).
