The International Conference on "Iran and Its Neighbouring Regions" is planned to be co-organised by Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU) and the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) from 23 to 25 October 2017 in the IPIS, Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In this three-day international conference, aiming at analysing the location of Iran and its neighbouring states, scholars, professors and experts in political science will participate. During this event, the following three separate, though highly related, conferences will be organised: the "22nd International Conference on the Persian Gulf"; the "18th International Conference on Central Asia and the Caucasus"; and the "3rd International Conference on Afghanistan".

In the opening ceremony of this conference, in addition to Iranian high-level political officials, renowned diplomats from Turkey, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Qatar, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Sudan, Russia, Syria, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, India, Belarus, Lebanon, Austria and Germany will participate. Hamid Karzai, the ex-president of Afghanistan; and Turkey's Former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, is going to address the audience in the opening ceremony as two of the distinguished speakers.

The Conference will open at 8:30 on the 23rd of October 2017, in the Institute for Political and International Studies, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It should also be added that prior to this large event, three pre-conferences were held by ATU and MFA where professors and experts from the two organisers could discuss various subjects beforehand.
