Two ATU students participated in the session organised by the International Assembly of the Youth from Caspian Sea Countries in Aktau, Kazakhstan. This session was convened by the Kazakh Ministry of Religious Affairs and Civil Society, the Mangystau Region Governorate, and Almaty Management University from 21 to 23 September 2017. In this session, held with the participation of more than 50 youths from Caspian Sea Countries, including Mr Aliakbar Khandan and Mr Amin Zabihi, two students from ATU ECO College of Insurance, discussions underwent on the creation of a framework for intercultural communication and dialogue among the young leaders of the Caspian Sea Countries, and empowering the position of the organisations for young leaders and the youth.

In the opening ceremony of the session, Dr Mahmoud Adib, Consul General of Islamic Republic of Iran in Aktau, talked about the readiness of Iran to expand its multilateral relations and make use of the scientific, intellectual and technical capacities of the youth in the region to further its cultural and economic exchanges, specifically cooperating with Kazakh universities in the field of student exchange. The Kazakh Minister for Religious Affairs and Civil Society, Governor of the Mangystau Region, the Deputy Speaker of the Republic of Azerbaijan's Parliament, Editor in Chief of the Independent Newspaper, Director of the UN Office in Kazakhstan, and Deputy Minister for Sport of Azerbaijan were the other speakers of the opening ceremony.
