International Workshop on ICTs for IROs Held in ATU

An international workshop on "ICTs for IROs" was held in ATU's Faculty of Communication Sciences from 11 to 13 September 2017.
In this three-day workshop, directors, experts and officers from international and IT offices of universities of Alicante (Spain), Ferdowsi, Sistan and Baluchestan, Shiraz, Shahid Chamran, Kurdistan, and other universities of Tehran including Alzahra, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Kharazmi, Amir Kabir, Sharif, and Science and Industry. In the beginning of this workshop, Dr Habib Honari, ATU Vice-President for Research, emphasised the key role played by international offices and pointed to information technology as a crucial tool for transfering international know-hows, saying that "progress in this field can decrease the spaces among universities and help university directors to fulfil their duties more appropriately."
In the first day of this workshop, Dr Francisco Gallego, IT Expert from University of Alicante (UA), started his speech with a short clip on the potentials of Cloud Services and continued with introducing UA experience in using this service. Then Dr Saeed Pourroostaei elaborated on ATU's plans and actions in providing cloud service to its members and answered a number of questions. The sessions continued on some ICT-related subjects as Multimedia Networks, Preparing Spaces for Video Conferencing and Video Streaming by Francisco Vives and a number of his colleagues at UA, through video conferences. In the last day also, Dr Enayat Shabani, Director of International Affairs and Development from Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), introduced the Education Iran Programme launched by TUMS.
This workshop was held within the framework of the IHEI project, financially supported by the European Commission, under its Erasmus+ Programme. IHEI was officially initiated from October 2015, and since then more than 6 workshops have been organised in the cities of Alicante, Graz (Austria), Shiraz, Mashhad, and Tehran. The programme will continue with two other workshops to be held in Ahvaz and Sistan and Baluchestan.
