A session was held between the Faculty of Management and Accounting and Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU) Press to address executive challenges facing academic journals and to accelerate the process of indexing in prestigious international databases.

In line with the university's strategic document on quality enhancement and internationalization, the session was attended by Dr Seyed Saeed Mirvahedi, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Accounting; Dr Seyed Ali Hosseini, Director of ATU Press; and a group of faculty members, editors-in-chief, and managing editors of scientific journals.

Key topics under discussion included the revision of publishing policies, the upgrade of evaluation indicators in accordance with the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, international citation databases, particularly Scopus, and the facilitation of financial and executive processes for journals.

Major discussions included delays in honorarium payments for executive staff, high publication costs, the difficulties encountered by newly established or unranked journals in attracting high-quality submissions, and strategies to enhance scientific quality and increase international visibility. 

The session concluded with an emphasis on reducing costs, as well as a reaffirmation of the university's serious determination to strengthen and stabilize the standing of its scientific journals at the international level.
