First Iranian Journal in Financial Mathematics Indexed in Scopus

The Journal of Mathematics and Modeling in Finance (JMMF), published by Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU), has become the first Iranian journal in financial mathematics to be indexed in Scopus.

Dr Mandana Tishehyar, acting Vice-President for Research at ATU, announced the indexing of The Journal of Mathematics and Modeling in Finance (JMMF) in Scopus database. This marks a historic achievement as the journal becomes the first top-tier Iranian publication in the specialized field of financial mathematics to meet the rigorous quality and scientific standards of Scopus.

According to Tishehyar, the journal is published under ATU's auspices and edited by Dr Abdolsadeh Neisi. It has been evaluated thoroughly by Scopus and successfully gained acceptance. She emphasized that the achievement reflects the collective efforts made by the editor-in-chief, managing director, editorial board members, researchers, and faculty who have contributed to the journal's scientific and international prominence by preparing, evaluating, and publishing high-quality academic papers.

Expressing her gratitude to everyone involved in this accomplishment, Dr Tishehyar highlighted the significance of Scopus indexing as a major step in enhancing ATU's international standing. She noted that this milestone opens new avenues for the university's researchers to present their work on a global stage and enhances international academic cooperation and engagement.

The acting Vice-President for Research also remarked that this success could attract and disseminate the findings of leading foreign researchers, positioning ATU as a reputable centre of excellence in the region and globally in the field of financial mathematics and modeling.

Tishehyar also expressed hope that the milestone would pave the way for further academic and research achievements, enabling other university journals to gain recognition in prestigious international scientific databases through continued dedication and effort.

It is worth noting that Scopus, established by Elsevier, is one of the world's most reputable academic indexing databases, known for its stringent criteria. Membership in Scopus signifies the scientific validity and quality of a journal. Additionally, Scopus indexing is often used as a benchmark for evaluating the scientific progress of countries and universities.
