New President appointed for ATU

In a letter issued in late September 2024, Dr Hossein Simaei, the Minister of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT), appointed Dr Shaja Ahmadvand as the new acting president of Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU).
In the appointment letter addressed to Dr Ahmadvand, the Minister stated, “Considering your commitment, expertise, and valuable experiences, I hereby appoint you as the acting president of Allameh Tabataba'i University. I expect you to rely on God and preside over the university based on the laws, policies, and approved plans. I trust, by following Islamic teachings, scientific principles, and the government's National Consensus Strategy, and through the cooperation of academics and experts, you will fulfill your assigned duties in a commendable manner. I pray for your continued success."
Born in 1966, Dr Shaja Ahmadvand holds a PhD in Political Science and is a full professor at ATU. So far, he has published 86 research articles in national and international journals, as well as 17 authored and translated books in his field of expertise.
In a separate letter, the Minister of Science, Research and Technology expressed his gratitude for the services and efforts made by Dr Abdollah Motamedi, ATU's former president, during his tenure.
Previously, Dr Shoja Ahmadvand has served as the Vice-President for Research and Vice-President for Academics at ATU, and the Secretary of the Humanities Commission at the Supreme Council of the MSRT.
