ATU's newly appointed President outlines vision

At a ceremony held on 25 September 2024, Dr Shoja Ahmadvand was introduced as the Acting President of Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU), replacing Dr Abdollah Motamedi. The event was attended by university officials, faculty, staff, and students.
In his speech, Dr Ahmadvand expressed gratitude to the Minister of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT) for attending the ceremony, the former President for his valuable measures, and the faculty, staff, and students. He emphasized the importance of convergence, unity, and collaboration in addressing the university's challenges.
In his inaugural address, Dr Ahmadvand appreciated the university's previous measures, critiqued the tendencies to take extreme positions, outlined a new vision for ATU, and emphasized the need to stick to a more balanced approach that would position ATU as a key player in shaping public policy.
The new President then pledged to create a more supportive environment for students, faculty, and staff, improve the quality of life for university employees, and strengthen the university's role in addressing societal challenges.
Dr Ahmadvand was formerly the Vice-President for Research at ATU. He is currently an associate professor of Political Thought at the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences.
