ATU President participates in the 15th International KazanForum, Russia and the Islamic World

The 15th International Kazan Forum, entitled "Russia and the Islamic World" revolving around the theme of "Trust and Cooperation," is being held in Kazan, the capital of Russia's Tatarstan Republic. The President, Dr Abdollah Motamedi, and Vice-President for Student Affairs, Dr Mahdi Vahedi, have participated in the event on Allameh Tabataba'i University's (ATU) behalf.
The forum brings together political, scientific, economic, religious, and cultural figures from 79 countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.
As previously, Iran has once again had active participation in the gathering, and members of its delegations are attending specialised sessions on politics, economics, religion, science and technology, banking, and tourism.
So far during his visit, Dr Motamedi has met with Iran's Consul-General in Kazan and his consular and economic experts to discuss issues such as the challenges faced by Iranian students at Kazan universities, how to identify and increase academic interactions between Kazan universities and ATU, how to take advantage of existing opportunities to strengthen cultural relations between the two countries with a focus on professors and students, and how to create opportunities for professors from both universities to visit each other's institutions.
ATU President has also visited Moscow State Institute of International Relations and Moscow State Linguistic University, met with their rectors, and discussed the possible ways to expand academic interactions with Russian universities.
The 15th International KazanForum, themed as Russia and the Islamic World, is taking place in 12 main sections, including international cooperation, economy and trade, tourism, science and technology, Islamic investment, halal industry, regional developments, the Palestinian issue, unity of the Islamic world, the new multipolar order, and an exhibition of economic capabilities.
The forum has begun on 16 May and will continue until 20 May 2024.
