ATU to hold a Russian Culture Week, as agreed in a session

On April 15, 2024, thanks for the efforts made by the Directorate for International Academic Cooperation (DIAC) at Allameh Tabataba'i University ATU, a representative from the Russian Academic Cooperation Agency in Iran visited the DIAC, met Dr Mousa Abdollahi and discussed the possible grounds for international academic cooperation. 

The session was attended by Dr Mousa Abdollahi, Director of International Academic Collaboration; Dr Liliya Vatinova, a representative from the Russian Academic Cooperation Agency in Iran; and Dr Narges Sanaei, Head of the Office for International Academic Collaborations and Head of the Russia Desk, ATU.

At the session, both parties expressed their interest in expanding cooperation between ATU and Russian universities. Accordingly, they agreed that a Russian Culture Week will be held at ATU. The following activities were proposed for the Russian Culture Week: Poetry reading and translation competitions, film screenings, photo exhibitions,  eminars and workshops, and student exchange programs. The parties also agreed to explore further opportunities for collaboration in the areas of science, research, and culture.

Reminding that there is already a good level of cooperation between ATU and Russian universities, Dr Abdollahi said the university is interested in expanding its cooperation to new areas, such as BRICS studies.

Dr Vatinova then expressed her support for ATU's proposal to hold a Russian Culture Week and said the Russian Academic Cooperation Agency in Iran would be happy to assist in organizing the event.

In the end, Dr Sanaei suggested that the Russian Culture Week could include a literary translation competition for students. She also said that ATU is interested in hosting Russian drama performances.

At the end of the meeting, both parties expressed their confidence that the proposed cooperation would be mutually beneficial.
