MoUs signed with three Russian universities

Thanks to the efforts made by the Directorate for International Academic Cooperation, three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) on academic cooperation were signed between Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU) and Russian universities at the end of the 17th meeting of the Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission.

The signing ceremony was attended by Javad Owji, the Iranian Minister of Petroleum, Alexander Novak, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Dr Abdollah Motamedi, the President of ATU, Dr Davoud Hosseinpour, the Vice President for Research at ATU, Dr Mousa Abdollahi, Director of International Academic Cooperation, and Dr Narges Sanaei, Head of the Group for Developing International Academic Collaborations.

The MoUs were signed between ATU and Southern Federal University of Russia, Moscow State University for the Humanities, and Ural Federal University. The MoUs aim to promote cooperation in the areas of the exchange of scientific materials, books, journals, and other documents in the academic, research, and technical fields of interest to both parties; facilitating the mobilities between both parties; organizing joint conferences, seminars, workshops, and training courses; cooperation in the establishment of joint degree programs; mobility of professors, students, researchers, and officers to conduct academic and research projects and participate in conferences, workshops, and international meetings; and joint publication of journals and books.

The MoUs will remain valid for five years from the date of signing and will be automatically renewed upon expiry.

ATU has had very fruitful and active partnerships with top Russian universities, resulting in the development of collaborations in the areas of student and staff mobilities, organisation of joint events, conducting several joint research projects, and launching double degree programs with the Moscow State Linguistic University.
