ATU and Financial University to launch a new joint degree programme

On Wednesday, 11 October 2023, Dr Anna Alexandrovna Suchilina, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Sciences, and Dr Svetlana Bryukhovetskaya, Vice-Rector for Marketing and Working with Applicants, Financial University of Russia, had a visit to Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU) and discussed the implementation of a joint degree programme in Cyberspace Psychology.
During their visit, they met Dr Abdollah Motamedi, ATU President, Dr Davoud Hosseinpour, Vice President for Research, and Dr Mousa Abdollahi, Director of International Academic Cooperation.
After introducing ATU's capacities, Dr Motamedi said: "As there are several prominent professors at ATU who are interested in developing relations with their international counterparts, ATU is prepared to cooperate with Financial University in the fields of mobility of professors and students, holding joint training courses, and sending students to participate in short-term courses at both institutes."
In the next part of the meeting, the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Mass Communications expressed her satisfaction at attending ATU and the cooperation between the two universities and said: "As one of the largest and most prestigious universities in Russia, Financial University is celebrating its 105th anniversary this year. This university has a long history of training specialists in the fields of political science, social sciences, and foreign languages."
She then referred to Financial University's interest in focusing on other fields and said: "We are interested in holding short-term courses in international economics and Persian language taught by professors from Allameh Tabataba'i University."
Dr Anna Alexandrovna Suchilina then added Financial University is one of the five Russian universities which have the option to choose their students and said, "We can admit students from Allameh Tabataba'i University for free."
She then presented an official invitation to the ATU President, inviting Dr Motamedi to participate in the Annual Summit of Financial University. Dr Suchilina said: "The Summit is an important event in Russia where many officials and ambassadors from different countries attend and we think the event will be a good opportunity to finalise the agreement on the launch of the joint programme in Cyberspace Psychology."
It should be noted that Financial University is one of the prestigious universities in Russia which deals with training specialists in the fields of economic sciences, political sciences, social sciences and communication sciences. The university, officially known as Financial University: Under the Government of the Russian Federation, has about fifty thousand students and two thousand foreign students studying in 240 degree programmes. It cooperates with 160 universities globally.
