ATU strengthens ties with Iraq through signing 3 new MoUs

Last week, during the international event entitled the "Science Week of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Iraq," Dr Abdollah Motamedi, President of Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU), attended Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and signed three MoUs with Iraqi universities. The event took place from 15 to 20 October 2023 at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad.
The universities of Baghdad, Karbala, and Warith al-Anbiyaa were the institutes with which ATU signed MoUs. Enhancing academic and research collaboration between the universities, facilitating the teaching of Persian and Arabic languages, Political and Regional Studies, and Translation Studies in both countries, conducting joint research projects, and academic exchanges between the universities, organising joint specialised seminars and workshops, and exploring study and research opportunities were the major areas of cooperation highlighted in the MoUs.
Attended by over 60 universities from Iran and Iraq, the Science Week of Iran and Iraq was designed to foster diplomacy, academic interactions, and communications, and promote cultural exchanges between the two countries. The event was organised thanks to the arrangements made by the cultural advisor's office at the I.R. Iran Embassy in Iraq and with the coordination of the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education.
