In the confidence vote session held on 30 May 2023 for the proposed Minister of Education, the MPs in the IR Iran's Majlis (Islamic Council Assembly) cast their votes for Dr Rezamorad Sahraei, a faculty member at Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU). With 167 votes in favour, 86 votes against, and 14 abstentions (out of a total of 269 votes), Dr Sahraei was elected as the 17th Minister of Education.

In the confidence vote session held on 30 May 2023 for the proposed Minister of Education, the MPs in the IR Iran's Majlis (Islamic Council Assembly) cast their votes for Dr Rezamorad Sahraei, a faculty member at Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU). With 167 votes in favour, 86 votes against, and 14 abstentions (out of 269 votes), Dr Sahraei was elected as the 17th Minister of Education.

Dr Sahraei holds a PhD in General Linguistics. Before receiving the vote of confidence from the Majlis and being nominated as the Minister of Education, he was the President of Farhangian University.

Dr Sahraei's previous scientific and executive posts include teaching in primary and secondary schools; teaching and researching at Allameh Tabataba'i University; authoring and translating more than 40 books; being selected as the leading researcher of the country by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and the Ministry of Health and Medical Education; acting as Allameh Tabataba'i University's Vice President for Student and Cultural Affairs; directing the Centre for Teaching Persian to Speakers of Other Language; acting as the Director General for Higher Education at the Martyrs Foundation; heading the cultural section of the Martyrs Foundation, and acting as Vice President for Academics and Research at the Saadi Foundation.
