ATU President and Director of Center of Arab and Islamic Studies meet in Moscow

During his travel to Moscow to participate in the Sixth Forum of Rectors of Top Iranian and Russian Universities, Dr Abdollah Motamedi, ATU President, had a visit to the Centre of Arab and Islamic Studies at the Institute of Oriental Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, and met Dr Igor Matveev, Director of the Centre of Arab and Islamic Studies.
At this meeting, the parties discussed the possible grounds for the development of academic and research partnerships between ATU and the Center of Arabic and Islamic Studies and other departments at the Institute of Oriental Studies in the form of joint publication of journal articles, holding joint specialized meetings attended by professors and scholars from the two institutes, translating and publishing educational materials in Russian and Persian, and holding lectures and seminars for Russian and Iranian students.
It was also decided that Dr Mousa Abdollahi, Vice Dean for Research at ATU's Faculty of Persian Literature and Foreign Languages, coordinate future negotiations and implementation of the agreements on ATU's behalf. The two sides also agreed to facilitate further academic collaborations by conducting surveys in their academic departments.
Before this meeting, the two universities had cooperated by holding the international conference in "The Prospects of Iran-Russia Cooperation" at ATU and had presented practical solutions for developing international academic partnerships.
