Six MoUs signed with Russian universities

On the sidelines of the Forum of the Rectors of Top Iranian and Russian Universities, six MoUs on academic cooperation were signed between Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU) and Russian universities.

The Sixth Forum of Rectors of Top Iranian and Russian Universities was hosted by Lomonosov Moscow State University in late April 2023. In this event, Rectors from top Iranian and Russian universities participated in specialised meetings and signed MoUs.

Aiming to broaden and deepen the international academic cooperation between the universities in Russia and Iran, the Sixth Forum of Rectors of Top Iranian and Russian Universities was attended by presidents/rectors from ATU, University of Tehran, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Sharif University of Technology, Amirkabir University of Technology, Shahid Beheshti University, K. N. Toosi University of Technology, University of Tabriz, Shiraz University, University of Isfahan, Shahed University, and the Technical and Vocational University from Iran and a number of top universities from Russia.

During the Forum, in a number of sessions attended by members from Iranian and Russian universities, the parties shared experiences in the areas of student mobilities, joint degree programmes, joint research projects, and the cultural aspects of the partnerships between Iranian and Russian universities.

In a specialised session, Dr Abdollah Motamedi, ATU President, delivered a speech on "The Need to Look at International Academic Cooperation from a Broad Perspective".

In the end of this academic travel, Dr Motamedi met and signed MoUs with the Presidents/Rectors of six top Russian universities, namely the Russian State University for the Humanities, Financial University, Higher School of Economics, University of Tomsk, University of Ufa and Kazan University are among the universities that signed a memorandum of understanding with Allameh Tabatabai University.

The MoUs were signed to expand academic and research partnerships in the areas of Persian and Russian Language Teaching, Regional Studies, Translation Studies, joint research projects, academic mobilities, holding seminars and specialised workshops, and study visits.

Dr Mousa Abdollahi, Vice Dean for Research at the Faculty of Persian Literature and Foreign Languages accompanied ATU President in this travel.
