Ms Negin Sharifi, a Master's degree student in Sports Physiology at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU), won second place in the National Students' Wushu Competitions. The competitions were held in the Sanda (Sanshou) type from 12 to 15 March 2023 at the University of Qom.

In these competitions, held in seven weights and attended by 24 teams from universities and higher education institutions from all over Iran, the only female student-athlete from ATU succeeded in winning a silver medal.

Negin Sharifi competed in the minus 70 weight class and won second place in the women's Sanda event.

Top competitors from the event are going to be nominated to be considered as candidates for the national student wushu team and participate in the World Wushu Championships in China.
