Three ATU journals indexed in DOAJ

Directorate for International Academic Cooperation

In January 2023, three more journals published by ATU Press were indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), increasing the total count of ATU journals indexed in DOAJ to 23.

According to Dr Mohammad Sharafi, Director of ATU Press, his directorate is trying to internationalise the scholarly publications and journals published by ATU, and a major measure in this direction is the indexing of journals in internationally recognised databases.

The ATU journals newly added to DOAJ are Empirical Studies in Financial Accounting, New Media Studies, and Urban and Regional Development Planning.

The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) is an independent, non-profit organisation which indexes a host of open access journals. Initially launched in 2003 with 300 open access journals, DOAJ's mission is to "increase the visibility, accessibility, reputation, usage and impact of quality, peer-reviewed, open access scholarly research journals globally, regardless of discipline, geography or language."
