Translation by ATU lecturers unveiled in Yalda Night Ceremony

The ECO Cultural Institute, in partnership with the Center for Public and Media Diplomacy at the IR Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Association of Cultural Artifacts and Figures, held a ceremony in commemoration of Yalda Night in the ECO Cultural Complex. The ceremony was attended by President of the Association of Cultural Artifacts and Figures, President of Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU), President of the ECO Cultural Institute, ambassadors and cultural advisors from ECO member states, and Afghan artists and researchers living in Tehran.

In this Event, a new Persian translation of the Nart Sagas (in Persian, "Nārt-Nāmeh") by Dr Mousa Abdollahi and Dr Maryam Moradi, two faculty members at ATU Faculty of Persian Literature and Foreign Languages was unveiled.

According to Wikipedia, the Nart Sagas "are a series of tales originating from the North Caucasus. They form much of the basic mythology of the ethnic groups in the area."

The latest autumn night is marked in the Iranian solar calendar as "Yalda Night" or 'Chelleh Night". Iranian people celebrate the longest night of the year in the form of get-togethers between friends, family, and relatives.
