The 16th round of the international conference on Quality Assessment and Assurance in Academic Systems is scheduled to take place on 9 and 10 November 2022 at Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU). A number of universities, scientific associations, and research institutes cooperate with ATU to organise this scholarly event.
In a news conference, Dr Abbas Abbaspour, Scientific Secretary of the Conference, provided details about the conference. Dr Abbaspour said, "Quality assessment and assurance in academic systems in particular and in higher education systems in general, is of huge importance because the universities' fundamental role in the sustainable and all-round political, economic, social and cultural development in different countries cannot be overlooked. Moreover, universities significantly contribute to the transition from the assumptions of the first generation of universities to the further emerging and trusted generations. Academic systems can allow for modernising a country's governance system and play a pivotal role in stabilising national identity and increasing public participation in various systems."
The scientific secretary of the conference then added that the conference aims to use the international, national, and local capacities in an intelligent and systematic manner and provide a space for the exchange of opinions and experiences and improvement of the various components of Quality Assessment and Assurance in Academic Systems.
Announcing that scholars and researchers from Germany, Australia, Japan, the United States, and Turkey are attending the conference, Dr Abbaspour said: "The major themes of the conference include new policies, processes, and achievements in the field of quality assessment and assurance in academic systems; emerging issues and challenges in this field; the role of scientific associations in examining and promoting quality assessment and assurance in higher education; the importance of hybrid education in the post-Covid-19 period, and the new challenges, strategies, methods, and solutions to promote quality assessment and assurance in higher-education systems with an emphasis on the capacities of the interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary paradigms; analysing and criticising the issues and challenges in the Iranian higher education system's quality assessment procedures, and the identification and comparative analysis of best practices in terms of higher education quality assurance across the world."
In the end, Dr Abbaspour reminded the deadline to submit full manuscripts is 2 October 2022. Accordingly, scholars and researchers are invited to submit their manuscripts to the conference secretariat through the conference website https://icaqa.atu.ac.ir.
