ATU Faculty Members Present Papers in Autonoma

Faculty of Philosophy and Literature of the University of Autonoma (Madrid), in partnership with Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU), organized a specialized session on "Image and Imagination of Iran and Spain: Looks and Representations".

This session, held on 10 and 11 October 2016, included four different panels entitled "Diplomatic History and Relations", "Image of Iran in Spanish Media and Politics", "Islam and Shia World", and "Cinema and Literature". Besides, at the end of both days, sessions on "Dictator and Revolution" and "Geo-Politic Looks at the Middle East in the Past and Today" were convened.

Dr Marjan Farjah and Ms Maryam Esmailpour, faculty members at ATU's PLFL faculty, presented their lectures on the "Poetic Cinema of Abbas Kiarostami" and "The TV Image of Iranian Culture in Today's Spanish World: a Case of Hispan TV", respectively. Dr Najmeh Shobeiri, Head of ATU Spanish Department, also addressed the audience on "The Iran-Spain Relations in the 17th Century, according to Travelogues".
