University of Samarra President visits ATU

On 31 May 2022, the President of the University of Samarra, Dr Sabah Allawi Khalaf Alsamarrai, visited Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU) and talked with ATU officials about future cooperation between the two universities.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr Abdollah Motamedi, President of Allameh Tabataba'i University, welcomed the Iraqi delegation and introduced ATU's facilities, equipment, and capacities. He added: "Allameh Tabataba'i University is one of the top universities in the country. We have signed MoUs and agreements on academic cooperation with many universities abroad. The university is prepared to cooperate with the University of Samarra in the areas of exchanging academic best practices, professor and student mobility and exchange, and other relevant research and educational activities.
Dr Sabah Allawi Khalaf Alsamarrai then expressed his pleasure in his presence at ATU and added, "The University of Samarra's being located in the holy city of Samarra and its connections with Imams Askari pilgrims and other cultural groups encourages us to further expand our ties with Iranian universities, especially Allameh Tabataba'i University, and use these ties to better serve the pilgrims."
Dr Sabah Allawi Khalaf Alsamarrai then went on to introduce the University of Samarra and its programmes, stating: "The University of Samarra is a comprehensive public university. It has nine Faculties and offers services to Bachelors, Masters, and PhD students in the two broad areas of Sciences and Humanities."
In the end, the President of the University of Samarra considered the academic and research cooperation between Iraqi universities and those of the Islamic Republic of Iran to be of great value and said: "I hope this meeting leads to increased cooperation between the University of Samarra and Iranian universities, especially Allameh Tabataba'i University."
