Report by the Directorate for International Academic Cooperation –

On Monday, 30 May 2022, and after the organisation of the international seminar entitled "The Ukraine War from the Viewpoint of Iran and Europe" in the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, a session was held, and an MoU was signed with Adam Mickiewicz University, Poland.

At the onset of the event, Professor Abdollah Motamedi, President of Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU), welcomed the three faculty members from Adam Mickiewicz University (UAM), Poznan (Poland) and said: "Allameh Tabataba'i University is the largest public humanities-oriented university in Iran and West Asia. The university has expanded its relations with universities abroad and has signed MoUs and agreements with numerous universities across and beyond the region."

Reminding that one of ATU's international activities is to hold Persian language chairs in different universities, Dr Motamedi added that ATU is prepared to launch similar chairs in Poland. Dr Motamedi then added that ATU is looking to expand ties with other universities in the form of meetings, roundtable conferences, and other scientific activities.

ATU President then maintained that the university is ready to internalise global knowledge and said: "Our thinkers' views of global relations are different from what is published in the media. Iran's foreign policy has been founded on the same views ever since the Islamic Revolution. The logic of this view is based on dialogue, and our humanities-oriented professors and thinkers are ready to explain the logic to the international academia."

Founded in 1919, the UAM is located in Poznan, Poland. According to the UAM website, the university comprises 20 in-town Faculties and four out-town campuses. It has over 38000 students and about 3000 academic staff and offers educational and research services in over 250 specialisations.
