According to the decision made in the 16 January 2022 meeting of the Supreme Council for Cultural Revolution, Dr Abdollah Motamedi was appointed by the Iranian Minister of Science, Research and Technology, Dr Mohammad Zolfigol, to be ATU President for a period of four years.

Born in 1962, Abdollah Motamedi received his Bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Isfahan in 1989. In 1994, he graduated in the same subject from Allameh Tabataba'i University and received his PhD in psychology from Tarbiat Modares University in 2002. He is currently a Full Professor in the Department of General and Clinical Psychology at Allameh Tabataba'i University.
