In the First Conference on Quran Translation, Dr. Gholamali Haddad-Adel, head of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, and a Quran Translator, expanded on the review of his translation saying: “This translation has been published several years ago, and now it is being reviewed. Its second revision will be published soon.”

Hoping that the revision ends before the end of the year, he added that “I read it frequently, from the point of view of the readers and audience, and made whatever adjustments necessary to make it more readable; I always put myself in my readers’ place, then I consult other scholars and translators about their views around it.” Naming Mr. Hossein Ostadvali as one of his critics, he continued: “I have tried to make use of the comments received from the beginning of its publishing, and they will be applied in the second revision.”

Dr. Haddad-Adel pointed to the resources he had used in his translation of Quran, maintaining: “In this translation I have used the translations of Mohammad Ayati and Ali Ravaghi. The annotations of Yadollah Samareh, and Mehdi Mohaghegh and Akramsadat Seyedaghai were also of great use to me.”

Concerning his concern about the translation of Quran, he advised the orators and preachers that “the discourse of the religious gatherings and groups should become Quranic and its verses should be taken into consideration. Besides, they should benefit from Nahj al-Balagheh and Sahifeh Sajjadieh, basing them on the verses of Quran.”

He emphasized that, while Quran in recited and people do not know its meaning, it should always be accompanied with its Persian translation. He concluded his speech talking about the importance of Quran translation in the academia, saying: “I am happy that the issue of Quran translation has been received scientifically in the universities and the Quran translation is a sign of the unity of universities with the Howzeh. In this conference, different Quranic subjects have been classified and I hope this could enhance the translations of Quran improved.
