The International Conference on Quran Translation: Spanish Translations
Thanks to the efforts of the ATU Department of English Translation, the International Conference on Quran Translation was convened on December 14-17, 2014, with the presence of many translators and scholars from different nations. Among the present speakers were three Spanish Quran scholars and translators, namely Dr Emilio Gonzales Ferrin, Raul Gonzales Bornez, and Dr Salas, together with a number of Spanish-speaking Muslims from various countries and the faculty of ATU Spanish Department. In this part of the conference, Dr Ferrin, Dr Gonzales Bornezs, and Dr Salas addressed the audience on the subjects of “A Pragmatic Reading of Quran: Translation and Original”, “Method of Quran Translation”, and “Quran and Literature”, respectively. The Conference was concluded with a question and answer session.
The guests were then invited to visit the Tehran Masjid Jami, Malek Museum, and Quran Museum of Tehran. They also took a short trip to Mashhad and paid a visit to Imam Reza Holy Shrine, Quran Museum, and Nader-Shah Tomb.
