ATU as the first Iranian university to establish a Moot Court Academy
The first Moot Court Academy in Iran opened on 14 June, 2015, in the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Allameh Tabataba’i University (ATU). Dr. Behazad Razavifard, Vice-Dean for Research at ATU’s Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, pointing to the outstanding position of ATU in the field of humanities and social sciences and the high capacities of its academic members and students, acknowledged the opening this Academy with the aim of helping ATU law students become more prepared for similar international competitions.
Pointing to the success of ATU student teams in these courts, he continued: “Moot courts are the assimilated courts which are known internationally; with the establishment of this moot court academy in ATU, student teams will practice and become more prepared for international competitions.”
Razavifard then added: “Fortunately, in the last two years, the teams sent to Jessup and Arbitration Moot Courts had considerable success and attained high ranks; […] This academy will be active in four internationally-recognized specialized fields, including: Arbitration Moot Court, Philip Jessup Moot Court, Jean Jacques Rousseau Moot Court, and Henry Dunant Moot Court.”
