    چکیده
This study, involving a total of ۵۰ learners (۲۵ in the control group and ۲۵ in the experimental group), delves into the realm of digital pragmatic ability – the competence to wield language effectively in diverse digital settings encompassing social media platforms, chat rooms, email exchanges, and video conferencing. Employing a mixed-method research design, the investigation centers on the impact of online strategy instruction in augmenting the digital pragmatic ability of Iranian EFL learners during intercultural communication scenarios. To gauge the participants' digital pragmatic prowess and assess their subsequent progress, we utilized two sets of Discourse Completion Tasks (DCTs). Each set comprised ۲۰ questions, providing a comprehensive measure of their pragmatic aptitude before and after the intervention. Furthermore, participants engaged in semi-structured interviews to articulate their perspectives regarding the significance of strategy instruction in honing their digital pragmatic skills within intercultural communication contexts. These interviews aimed to uncover the challenges they encountered during the instructional process and discern the efficacy of various strategies.  The outcomes of this investigation underscore the pivotal role of strategy instruction in advancing learners' digital pragmatic ability in intercultural communication. Moreover, participants exhibited a resoundingly positive perception of the course's value, characterizing it as vital and engaging. Challenges faced predominantly emanated from the unique dynamics of online learning environments. Learners regarded netiquette strategies, role-play techniques, politeness strategies, and speech act strategies as pivotal in their pragmatic development, highlighting their efficacy in navigating the intricate landscape of intercultural communication.
