- Abstract
- The present research was conducted with the general aim of identifying the role of geographical features of the provinces on the development of sports tourism in Iran. Also, identifying the geographical factors affecting the development of sports tourism was one of the other goals of this research. In terms of the type and data analysis, the research method was qualitative with thematic analysis approach. The statistical population of this research consisted of all sports tourism specialists and geography specialists. Interviews were used to collect information and after ۱۱ interviews, information saturation was achieved. According to the results, climatic characteristics, natural potentials, human geography and infrastructure factors were identified as four provincial geographical components affecting the development of sports tourism in Iran.
