هدف از انجام پژوهش حاضر، بررسی نقش شایسته‌سالاری در بهبود عملکرد فدراسیون هندبال می باشد. روش تحقیق توصیفی همبستگی و از نظر هدف کاربردی است. جامعه آماری شامل کلیه روءسا، نوابین، و دبیران فدراسیون هندبال و هیأت های هندبال استان ها (در حدود ۱۲۰ نفر) بود. نمونة آماری بر اساس فرمول تعیین حجم نمونه کوکران (۹۲ نفر)، به صورت غیراحتمالی در دسترس تعیین شد برای اندازه‌گیری متغیرهای تحقیق از پرسشنامه شایستگی‌های مدیران ورزشی (بجانی و همکاران، ۱۳۹۷)، با ضریب پایایی ۷۸/۰ و پرسشنامه ارزیابی عملکرد فدراسیون‌های ورزشی (فسنقری و همکاران، ۱۴۰۰) با ضریب پایایی ۷۴/۰ استفاده شد. روایی صوری و محتوایی پرسشنامه ها به تایید استاد راهنما رسید. تجزیه و تحلیل فرضیه ها با روش آماری رگرسیون خطی و همبستگی پیرسون با استفاده از نرم‌افزار ویرایش ۲۵ انجام شد. بر اساس یافته های پژوهش، شایسته‌سالاری مدیران فدراسیون و هیأت های ورزشی (در حیطه هایی چون شایستگی های عملکردی، فردی و رقابتی) می تواند به بهبود عملکرد فدراسیون هندبال منجر شود.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the role of meritocracy in improving the performance of the Handball Federation. The descriptive research method is correlational and practical in terms of purpose. The statistical population included all presidents, deputies, and secretaries of the handball federation and handball boards of the provinces (about ۱۲۰ people). The statistical sample was determined based on Cochran's sample size formula (۹۲ people), non-probably available, to measure the research variables from the sports managers' competency questionnaire (Bejani et al., ۲۰۱۷), with a reliability coefficient of ۰.۷۸ and the performance evaluation questionnaire of sports federations. (Fasangri et al., ۱۴۰۰) was used with a reliability coefficient of ۰.۷۴. The face and content validity of the questionnaires was approved by the supervisor. Hypotheses were analyzed by linear regression and Pearson correlation statistical method using software version ۲۵. Based on the findings of the research, the meritocracy of the federation managers and sports boards (in areas such as functional, individual and competitive competencies) can lead to the improvement of the performance of the handball federation.
