On Saturday, 3 May 2025, following efforts made by Directorate for International Academic Cooperation and the the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, an international scientific workshop titled "Scenarios for the Developments in Iran's Nuclear Program from Russia's Perspective" was convened in Solh Hall.
The event featured a keynote presentation by Adlan Margoev, a prominent researcher and lecturer from the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the workshop, Margoev provided an in-depth analysis of various scenarios that could impact Iran's nuclear program, outlining the implications of each from the viewpoint of the Russian Federation. He focused on five main scenarios: negotiations towards a new agreement, increased sanctions, Iran's potential withdrawal from the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), the possibility of military conflict, and the scenario of Iran developing nuclear weapons.
The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for academics, researchers, and interested individuals to gain insight into Russia's analytical perspectives on one of the most complex regional and international issues and to engage in discussion and exchange of views on the matter.
