Our Master's Degree Programmes


Accounting

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Management and Accounting. This major aims to teach individuals the ways and means of gathering and recording information about an individual's or an organization's financial resources, the framework for analyzing and interpreting information regarding financial performance, and the conventions of communicating and reporting this information in the form of numerical data.


Actuarial Science and Insurance Planning

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Insurance Management, ECO College of Insurance. This programme focuses on the mathematical and statistical analysis of financial risk and their application to insurance, pension, and investment plans. It includes instruction in forecasting theory, quantitative and non-quantitative risk measurement methodologies, development of risk tables, and computer-assisted research methods.


Ancient Languages

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Persian Literature and Foreign Languages. The focus of this programme is on the ancient languages which were spoken in the old ages in the Persian plain. Subjects of study include written ancient languages, language roots, studies of ancient cultures, language families, etc.


Arabic Language and Literature

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, Faculty of Persian Literature and Foreign Languages. This major is aimed at teaching the Arabic language and literature and includes instruction in philology, classical Arabic, modern standard Arabic, and its dialects.


Auditing

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Management and Accounting. This programme prepares individuals, including certified accountants, to perform independent internal and external appraisals to evaluate organizational, financial, and operational activities, ensure compliance with financial laws and policies, safeguard assets, and promote effective planning and resource allocation. It includes instruction in advanced accounting, auditing tools and techniques, sampling, audit planning, audit function management, and environmental auditing.


Clinical Psychology

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of General and Clinical Psychology, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. Building on a basis of scientific methodologies and theories, the programme prepares individuals for the professional practice of clinical psychology, involving the analysis, diagnosis, and clinical treatment of psychological disorders and behavioral pathologies. Moreover, this programme focuses on the application of psychology to different issues regarding behavioral, cognitive, and societal challenges.


Comparative Literature (Persian, Arabic)

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Persian Language and Literature, Faculty of Persian Literature and Foreign Languages. This programme, intended as a preparation for further studies, includes instruction in cross-cultural literary studies between Persian and Arabic, synchronic and diachronic linguistic comparison, literary criticism, literary theories, and applications to textual studies, as well as literary forms such as poetry, prose, and drama.


Computer Sciences

This major is offered at the M.Sc. level in the Department of Computer Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Sciences. It focuses on theories regarding the development of computer systems, computing problems and solutions, and the design of computer systems and user interfaces from a scientific perspective. It includes instruction in the principles of computational science, computer development and programming, and applications to a variety of end-use situations.


Counseling (School, Career, Family, Rehabilitation)

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Counseling, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. This programme intends to train responsible and competent individuals who strive for the betterment of the society. Focusing on school contexts, professional careers, families, and rehabilitation practices, this programme aims to scientifically explore individual and collective behaviors, study challenges and pitfalls in human life, and explain the means to provide beneficial counseling to individuals with the goal of overcoming problems and obstacles people face in everyday life. It includes instruction in the principles of various subfields of psychology, research methods, psychological assessment, and counseling methodologies.

Cultural Studies

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Social Communications, Faculty of Communications. This programme focuses on the analysis and critique of culture and its varied components, including values, ideologies, belief systems, and expressive acts, and the relationship between cultural forms and everyday life. The programme includes instruction in anthropology, history, literary studies, philosophy, politics and economics, and sociology, as well as some other branches of humanities such as gender studies and ethnography.


Curriculum Studies

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Educational Planning, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. This programme aims to provide individuals with the opportunity to gain the skills necessary to develop, justify, evaluate, and modify curricula to better serve the needs of all learners. Demography

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Social Research, Faculty of Social Sciences. The curriculum emphasizes demographic practice and the development of intellectual and analytical skills useful in a research or data-intensive setting.


Economic Sciences (Environmental Economics)

This major is offered at the M.A. level at the School of Graduate Studies. It intends to train students to use economic concepts and theories to better understand the management, marketing, labor, and financial problems concerning businesses operating in a market system.


Economics and E-Commerce

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Commercial Economics, Faculty of Economics. This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Education, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. This programme, with an emphasis on elementary and early childhood education, provides students with a position to shape children's cognitive, social and emotional development during their formative years—helping them build a foundation for learning that will support them as they progress through their education. Comparative education focuses on the educational phenomena, practices and institutions within different societies. Library and Information Science

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Knowledge and Information Science, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. It is a programme that focuses on the knowledge and skills required to develop, organize, store, retrieve, administer, and facilitate the use of local, remote, and networked collections of information in print, or audiovisual and electronic formats. This programme prepares individuals for professional service as librarians and information consultants.


Educational Management

Educational Psychology

It includes instruction in foundations of educational technology, computer applications, utilizing technology for testing and assessment, multimedia instruction, web-based instruction, distance learning, and designing and producing educational software and materials.


Energy Economics

This programme simply deals with language: How it is formed, used, shaped and reshaped. The focus is on different levels and components of language and theory formation for linguistics. Its areas of interest and application are multidisciplinary, and it can consequently contribute to translation theories, the study of language acquisition as well as discourse studies.


General Psychology

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of General and Clinical Psychology, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. This programme focuses on the scientific study of individual and collective behavior, the physical and environmental bases of behavior, and the analysis and treatment of behavioral problems and disorders. It includes instruction in the principles of the various subfields of psychology, research methods, and psychological assessment and testing methods.


History of Islamic Education Philosophy

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Philosophy of Education and Islamic Education, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. This major focuses on the principles and concepts underlying education in Islam and its analysis and criticism, deconstructing and disintegrating the existing educational infrastructure and striving to continuously produce new concepts under the umbrella term of Islamic Education.


Industrial Management

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Industrial Management, Faculty of Management and Accounting. This major aims to inform students about how to lead industrial enterprises and compete in domestic and international markets by studying proven management techniques of top manufacturing and service organizations, studying best practices for improving and incorporating new technologies, and eliminating waste and reducing costs. Students are equipped with the basic technical and managerial competencies to administer the technical and complex aspects of contemporary industrial organizations.


Information Technology Management

This major is offered at M.A. level in the Department of Industrial Management, Faculty of Management and Accounting. Its main focus is on the means and methods of establishing and managing electronic information technology resources of any given organization in accordance with its needs and purposes. Students of this programme will be provided with the knowledge to develop and improve creative IT solution to organizational needs based on a strong technical foundation acquired through the course.


International Relations

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences. This programme focuses on the systematic study of international politics and institutions, and the conduct of cross-country and international interactions. It includes instruction in international relations theory, foreign policy analysis, international law and organization, and the comparative study of specific countries and regions.


Islamic Knowledge Teacher Training (Understanding Islamic Sources, Theoretical Foundations of Islam)

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Islamic Studies, Faculty of Theology and Islamic knowledge. The main goal of this programme is to impart theological knowledge onto interested individuals with the aim of training theology teachers of Islam, the knowledge from the teachings of Islam, and the foundations of this religion.


Islamic Philosophy and Discourse

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Islamic Studies, Faculty of Theology and Islamic knowledge. The pivotal element in this programme is the viewpoint of Islam towards philosophy and discourse. Various schools of thought, schools of philosophy, and discourse communities are reviewed and studied in this field with an approach derived from the teachings of Islam. The aim is to reach an extensive comprehension of philosophy through the eyes of this religion and to understand discourse in the context of Islam.


Law and Economics

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Public and International Law, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences. As the title of the course clearly suggests, this programme, interdisciplinary by nature, revolves around the relationship between law and economics. In this major, individuals seek to understand the legal framework, regulations, and proceedings of different aspects of economic interactions and fiscal activities. Students will be familiarized with different layers of law in economics and will study the application of legal judicial systems in the subject of economy.


Motor Behavior

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Motor Behavior, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. This major focuses on studies in biomechanical and motor behavior, epidemiology and exercise behavior, muscle physiology, neuro-mechanics, and sports optimization. Students will deal with issues regarding the kinesthetic aspects of the human physiology and gain a comprehensive understanding of human motor behavior.


Persian Language and Literature

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Persian Language and Literature, Faculty of Persian Literature and Foreign Languages. It focuses on the languages used in ancient, medieval, and modern Iran and its border regions, including modern Persian, Avestan/Old Persian, and related modern and extinct languages. It includes instruction in Persian linguistics, Persian history, Persian typography etc.


Persian Language and Literature for Speakers of Other Languages

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Persian Language and Literature, Faculty of Persian Literature and Language. The Persian language and, more importantly, the Persian literature are highly complex subjects of study which require a thorough knowledge of Persian history, culture, lifestyles etc. Therefore, this specialized field has been devised to help speakers of other languages become familiar with the Persian literature and grasp the different schools of thought and philosophy embedded within it.


Persian Literature

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Persian Language and Literature, Faculty of Persian Literature and Foreign Languages. This major offers courses for students fascinated with Persian poetry, prose, and literary creations in vast diversity. It focuses on the literature used in ancient, medieval, and modern Iran and its border regions, including modern Persian and Old Persian. Subjects in this major include the fields of Persian literature, both poetry and prose, notable literary figures in the Persian language and literature, literary criticism, translation studies etc.


Philosophy (Logic)

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Theology and Islamic Knowledge. This programme is mainly focused on the field of philosophy, though it inevitably crosses path with other majors such as literature, sociology, psychology etc. Its main purpose is to prepare intellectual individuals who can strive to answer some of the most fundamental questions of humankind. In this programme, various schools of thought and philosophy will be discussed, and numerous key figures in the history of philosophy will be studied.


Philosophy of Art

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Theology and Islamic Knowledge. As a branch and subfield of philosophy, this major focuses on the philosophy of art, its necessity in human, its history, and its purpose in the development of human societies.


Philosophy of Religion

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Theology and Islamic Knowledge. This programme combines the study of philosophy and religious studies. It includes instruction in logic, ethics, epistemology, symbolism, phenomenology, psychology, philosophy, anthropology, and world religions. In short, this programme aims to identify and explain the role of religion in human life.


Political Thoughts in Islam

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the School of Graduate Studies. Its main focus is on the issue of politics observed from the viewpoint of the teachings of Islam and most notable Islamic leaders and scholars. Moreover, it includes a review and criticism of current political schools and proposals for substituting political thinking patterns.


Private Law

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Private and Commercial Law, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences. Its focus is on law in human societies and between people. Individuals in this field will be familiarized with the rules and conventions of judiciary systems with regard to the legal interactions between individuals such as contracts, labor agreements, sales and purchases etc. and will be taught how to handle legal cases concerning such matters in the judicial system and the court of law.


Psychology of Exceptional Children

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Psychology of Exceptional Children, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. Its main focus is the psychology and education of exceptional children. It uses underpinning psychological theories and approaches to these subjects and encompasses various subjects from the fields of cognitive psychology and childhood education. Individuals in this field can continue their studies into further levels or enter a professional career as a teacher for children.


Psychometrics (Assessment)

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Psychometrics and Educational Psychology, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. This major focuses on the mathematical and statistical procedures used in psychological testing and assessment, the general problems of the measurement of behavior, and the application of quantitative methods to research design and other methodological topics.

Public Administration (Human Resources)

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Management and Accounting. It prepares individuals to serve as managers in the executive arm of local, provincial and governmental organizations with a focus on the systematic study of human resource management, recruitment, hiring and dismissal processes, the theory and practice of allocation and distribution of the workforce, and work ethics and regulations between personnel.


Public Law

This major is offered at the M.A level in the Department of Public and International Law, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences. This major is an interdisciplinary programme in which students learn and practice methods and modes of thinking required to understand and become actively engaged in the analysis of legal and public judicial policy issues. Grounded in the liberal arts, the programme provides students with the tools of analysis in social sciences, law, and other fields of the humanities needed to understand the substance of public policy concerns. The programme aims to reach the objective of the effect and the role of law and judiciary systems in the formation and continuation of human societies.


Qur'an Sciences and Hadith

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Qur'an Sciences and Hadith, Faculty of Theology and Islamic Knowledge. The main focus of this programme is exploring and explaining the teachings of Islam through Hadith, teachings left by Islamic leaders, such the Prophet and the Imams. Students will acquire a thorough and scientific understanding of Qu'anic studies, Hadith studies, and what is left from the teachings of key figures in the history of the Islamic world.


Regional Development Planning

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Social Planning, Faculty of Social Sciences. This major trains students who can shape the quality of life for others. Dealing with social concerns such as hunger, homelessness, gender issues, and abuse is just a few of the ways you can help change contemporary society. The programme focuses on planning and policy-making for the development and enhancement of human communities and societies.


Social Communication Sciences

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Social Communications, Faculty of Communications. This programme deals with processes of human communication, commonly defined as the sharing of symbols to create meaning. The discipline encompasses a range of topics, from face-to-face conversation to mass media outlets such as television broadcasting. Communication studies also examine how messages are interpreted through the political, cultural, economic, semiotic, hermeneutic, and social dimensions of their contexts.


Journalism

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Social Communications, Faculty of Communications. This major focuses on the theory and practice of gathering, processing, and delivering news and prepares individuals to be professional print journalists, news editors, and news managers. It includes instruction in news writing and editing, reporting, photojournalism, news layout and graphic design, journalism law and policy, professional standards and ethics, research methods, and journalism history and criticism.


Social Welfare Planning

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Social Welfare, Faculty Social Sciences. This programme focuses on the general study of human social living conditions, human life needs and resources, and how social institutions, governmental or otherwise, can maintain standard living conditions and provide services to the general public. Students will study subjects such as the history of social welfare, social classes, social welfare institutions and practices, social welfare legal framework etc.


Social Work

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Social Sciences. This programme aims at preparing individuals for the professional practice of social welfare administration and counseling, and it focuses on the study of organized means of providing basic support services for vulnerable individuals and groups. It includes instruction in social welfare policy, case work planning, social counseling and intervention strategies, administrative procedures and regulations as well as specific applications in areas such as child and family services, probation, employment services, disability counseling, etc.


Urban Management

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Industrial Governmental and Urban Management and Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Management and Accounting. This major provides knowledge and skills for students seeking careers in urban government management and enables students to develop the skills and techniques used by city and urban leaders and developers. Students will study subjects such as resource management and allocation, urban planning, urban expansion and construction, legal framework of urban management etc.


Sociology

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Social Research, Faculty of Social Sciences. This programme focuses on the systematic study of human social institutions and social relationships. It includes instruction in social theory, sociological research methods, social organization and structure, social stratification and hierarchies, dynamics of social change, family structures, social deviance and control, and applications to the study of specific social groups, social institutions, and social problems.


Sports Injury and Corrective Exercises

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Sports Injury and Corrective Exercises, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. Students' efforts will mainly be directed toward subjects such as different human physiology, various types of sports injuries, treatment of injuries, medical and paramedical attention etc.


Sports Management

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Sports Management, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. This programme prepares individuals to apply business, coaching and physical education principles to the organization, administration and management of athletic programmes and teams, fitness and/or rehabilitation facilities and health clubs, sport recreation services, and related services. It includes instruction in programme sports institutions establishment and development, principles of economic management, sales, marketing and recruitment, event promotion and scheduling, sports facilities management, public relations, legal aspects of sports, and applicable health, and safety standards.


Sports Psychology

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Sports Management, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. This major provides a solid foundation in psychological research skills in relation to sports while encouraging each student to find his or her area of scientific interest in psychology of sports. The programme prepares students for observation, analysis, and problem-solving in sports-related issues from a psychological point of view. Students often face a psychological preparation for graduate work in sport psychology, health psychology, rehabilitation, and occupational therapy.


Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of English Language and Literature, Faculty of Persian Literature and Foreign Languages. This programme is designed to prepare trainees for TEFL instruction and English teacher training. Students can either carry on with their studies into higher academic levels or enter a professional career as a highly qualified English teacher or English teacher trainer. The curriculum, taught by expert faculty members with years of experience in the field, focuses on various aspects of language teaching such as language skills, language components, linguistics and sociolinguistics, English for Specific Purposes, academic writing, discourse and pragmatics etc.



Teaching Persian to Speakers of Other Languages

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Persian Language and Literature, Faculty of Persian Literature and Foreign Languages. The focus of this major, as the name suggests, is the teaching of the Persian language to speakers of other languages as a foreign language, not as a subject of university-level academic subject. It includes both theoretical and practical practices in exploring the field of language teaching and those of training teachers for this end.


The Law of Intellectual Property

This major is offered at M.A. level in the Department of Private and Commercial Law, the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences. There are three main forms of intellectual property taught in this programme: patents, which give inventors exclusive rights to their new compounds, machines, and other innovations; copyrights, which protect authors and artists against piracy of the way they express themselves; and trademarks, which recognize the distinctive brands and logos which consumers rely on as signals of familiar quality. Other closely related fields include the false advertising laws protecting consumers and competitors, rights of publicity for celebrity personalities, and trade secrets in confidential business information. The Intellectual Property Law Programme works closely with the Business Law Programme on issues involving businesses' intellectual property assets and risks.


Urban and Regional Planning

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Industrial Governmental and Urban Management and Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Management and Accounting. This programme teaches students about the principles of architectural design and how to use them to create communities in which people are proud to work and live. They explore such topics as affordable housing, public transportation, residential area planning, land use and zoning, economics, environmentally friendly buildings etc.


Urban Management

This major is offered at the M.A. level at the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Management and Accounting.


Women Studies

This major is offered at the M.A. level in the Department of Women Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences. This major is dedicated to studying women's roles in the fields of humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Students of Women's Studies are encouraged to explore traditional and current issues in gender and social justice studies and to critically challenge inequity and inequality. The Women's Studies curriculum offers courses that examine the world from diverse vantage points – gender, race, age, class, sexuality, ethnicity, nationality, etc. – and motivates students to explore and voice varying points of view, from a multidisciplinary vantage point.
